Welcome dear, let’s take a deep breath, and notice: you're here. Most women read that first page and close the tab, promising themselves they'll come back when life calms down. You didn't. Remember that about yourself.
One thing before you get to the questions: For a woman who has spent her life reading rooms the second she enters, a form can feel like one more “room to read”. So please know, that there is nothing expected from you here, and nothing to perform about. Some of the questions are optional, and skipping them is a complete answer. Every honest answer is a rep of the exact thing we practice inside the Whole Loaf Community: telling the truth about you, without managing how it lands.
Give it a try.
Describing the room
Before I ask about you, it's only fair that I tell you about us. The Whole Loaf Community is created on a few things I protect whole heartedly and fiercely:
You come first here. Choosing yourself is not selfish. It's the whole assignment, and we practice it together until it stops feeling dangerous to your nervous system.
A warm cushion, not a hot seat. This is a practice space. Sometimes you'll rehearse the no, the uncomfortable ask, the conversation you've been avoiding, and instead of thinking about it as being on a ‘hot seat’ you will actually be on a warm cushion with so much support, comfort, compassion, and playfulness. This is how we change best - without shame, but with mutual respect and support.
Compassion instead of shame. You will not be judged for how long you stayed, how often you slip back into old patterns, or how scared you are. Not ever. We all get it! Including myself, who is going to be right here with you.
Real over polished. We tell the truth about how we actually are. This is the room where the ‘I got this’’, or ‘the strong-one’ masks can rest at the door; let’s say it has earned a break.
We rise in ripples. When one woman stops abandoning herself, it echoes through this room. We all live through each other’s experiences and it is finally a space where we don’t have to do it alone. Women coming together in such compassionate, safe, and courageous spaces are medicine!!! And the healing that happens in this room is rippling even further to your families, work, and the generations after. Your healing is bigger than you.
And in fairness, who this room is NOT for:
It's not the right room if you're in an acute crisis right now; that deserves a therapist's care first, and the door to this room stays open for later.
It's not the right room if what you most need is to keep untangling what happened with the person who hurt you; that's exactly what my course "Not Your Fault. Not Your Future." is for, and it may be your better first step.
And it's not the right room if you're looking for a place to observe from the back row. This community lives from your participation. Every member’s presence and contributions count in a meaningful way. This room is gentle, and it will also lovingly stretch you into the version of you that’s been waiting for you to rise to new standards.
